What moves you? My passion for fitness runs deep not only in the results that I have seen but watching the people I coach and train. When I see them or myself reach a goal, it is so inspiring to me. I hardly ever lack motivation. What started as a fitness journey for health has transformed into continued growth and fascination in performance and pushing my boundaries. I love to see what I am capable and challenge myself to new levels. I take half of my workouts into the forest now and have found a sense of peace and meditation on the trails.
How does running inspire you to give back? After years of watching the running community from inside the race, I have discovered that sometimes it is nice to step back and approach it from the other side. I have volunteered at a few races, and it is rewarding to help people. Without the volunteers, we would not be able to have such incredible events to participate in. In addition, I give back by helping others. I work as a personal trainer and a coach and have helped numerous people do their first 5K or first obstacle race and even a half marathon. It is very rewarding for me to be able to give back in such a way. I would like to find more time to give back in the future through volunteering at events or doing trail work. |
